A motor planning disorder where the person knows precisely what they want to say but the message has a hard time getting from their brain to their mouth. AOS can be found in children or adults. Treatment includes repetitive practice of specific speech sounds to improve/rebuild the neural connection between the brain and oral musculature to make the appropriate speech sounds in order to produce verbal language.
